The perfect week sandwiched between a catalogue of horrors

To cut a long story short , the trip started with a horrendous journey to Dover which took 7 hours due to the obligatory road closures . Then a near death experience with a stray wheel from an articulated lorry bouncing down the carriageway at us only an hour into the drive french side . To cap it all a car that decides to go into limp mode on the morning of departure starting a nightmare experience with the recovery company which finally ended with mum and myself flying home 4 days late and leaving the car and all the gear behind. Sandwiched in between was the perfect week .
16 fish between us , a mixture of mirrors , commons and leathers ranging from scraper 20 s to the majestic Ronnie at a new top weight of 50lb 8 oz. We managed to bank fish that hadn’t been seen for a few years that had piled on the weight , which was so pleasing to see . All the hard work that John and Jan have put in over the last 8 years is really starting to bare fruit .

all the fish falling to either two popped up corn toppers or a snowman set up fished over a bed of the lakes particle mix, crushed and whole carp Pb boilies rolled for the lake, pellet and corn . A rod in the moat produced a fish every 2 days whilst the usual margin spots produced the rest . Fantastic week .
