Houdini And The Retainer Mishap

Next up was my good friend Simon , back for his annual trip along with carping buddy Glen .

Snow and freezing weather the week before wasn't a good run up to their visit but it didn't put the lads off and they fished hard throughout their stay . Even with the warm bright days and cold nights they managed to bank 9 fish between them including a 50-2 mirror and Gilbert the grassie making an appearance at 40+ .

Unfortunately Simon had a bit of bad luck with the large mirror . John didn't recognise the fish but whilst donning his waders for the water shots it did a Houdini impression and escaped the confines of the retainer . Needless to say Simon was not a happy bunny . I'm sure this faux pas won't get mentioned again ( or not very often mmmmmm).
